This was an existing lesson that we were updating. We investigated a few "skins" or themes for this lesson, but the Road Trip theme required the least work from curriculum designers and developers.

I had fun with the process for this art. Modeling my scene in blender with flat colors, then adding details in illustrator, blending the transitions between 3D and 2D assets.

Because of how the car rotates on the track, we needed a top down "map" for the background. This squashed perspective was a fun way to get detail and depth into the art.

Road Trip - Fractions

This is a lesson I worked on for Dreambox Math. Students use this car on a road trip to show their understanding of fractions. There was a lot I could not change about this lesson, but I did have fun with the background art - where I had free rein!
